15:30 - Well, I was tired today. I am used to having my flights in the mornings. However, we took off at 3:30 today.
However, I DID get to fly the newer Cessna 172. Nicer seats...actual computerized gyros...and a computerized GPS system. Still, no air-conditioning. Alas. Actually, I am used to the older model Cessna...but it was a treat (albeit more difficult) to learn the newer, more advanced model.
Today, more 180-degree/45-degree banking turns. The object is to keep a stable altitude/pitch/airspeed. Now, remember when I said I was tired? I WAS tired. Therefore, it was a bit more difficult than normal for me to accomplish today. I kept pitching the nose up or down instead of keeping a steady, constant bank.
I also worked on further emergency procedures. By putting the plane in a "skid", one can descend without pushing in the yoke as normal. By pushing the right rudder pedal fully down and turning the left aileron full left, the plane will slowly descend (did I type that correctly?)
In addition, I performed three TOUCH AND GO'S (meaning...land then take-off immediately without stopping). One of my take-off's, I must admit, was perfect! I would have been more excited, however I was ready to call it "a day."
All in all, a good flight.
