M'aider

10:30 - I arrived at 9:00.  Only then did I realize my lesson begins at 10:30.

I arrive at 10:30.  Today, emergency procedures and forced landings.  Brilliant.  It was pretty rough up there today and we headed South.  Throttle off/mixture off/flaps extend, etc. etc. etc.  Oh yeah, BUCKLE UP!  Actually, it's all about "not panicing."  If you think rationally and technically about the situation, you WILL land without crashing.

The most difficult part for me was finding a proper landing field and GETTING DOWN IN TIME so as not to crash into the trees.  I'll work on this.

In the meantime, did you know that "Mayday" comes from the french verb M'aider...which literally translates into "Help me."   Now you know.

I've learned that if cool heads previal, it's not that difficult to land properly...even WITHOUT an engine.
